The Cinnamon Club plays host to the bi-montly residency of Jeremy Sassoon. A great night with a great vibe, Jeremy introduces many musicians to us under the banner of "Jeremy Sassoon & friends"
Jeremy Sassoon has held longstanding residencies at several distinguished jazz venues across the region including here at The Cinnamon Club. Originally classically trained on piano and trumpet at the Royal Northern College of Music, Jeremy Sassoon, went on to study medicine in London. After qualifying as a doctor, he practiced for several years as a hospital psychiatrist in Manchester, but always had a strong passion for music, particularly Jazz, Swing and Blues.
In 1995, he gave up his medical career to pursue a full time profession in music, and since then has established himself as one of Manchester’s most formidable and respected musicians. As a jazz pianist, he formed long-term musical partnerships with some of the North West’s finest singers and has been able to call upon the musical talents of Manchester’s finest jazz luminaries. In 2009, Jeremy put together his most ambitious musical project to date, in the form of a 12-piece band playing exclusively the music of Ray Charles.
